Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and three years of children and family services experience* including or supplemented by two years in the planning, development or delivery of child abuse and/or neglect programs.
Experience must include or be supplemented by one year of investigative experience.
*Children and family services experience may include, but is not limited to, adoption services, foster care services for children and/or adults, preventive services and protective services for children and/or adults.
Note: All candidates appointed to this title must be able to fulfill the transportation-related duties of the title at the time of appointment, and throughout their tenure in the title.
Duties Description Conduct abuse/neglect investigations as assigned, following state protocols and mandates to make a recommended determination to the Justice Center.
Collaborate with regional Office Voluntary Agency Leads regarding findings identified in abuse/neglect investigations to assist in necessary practice improvements.
Review significant incidents as assigned to assess whether programmatic policies and protocols were met and provide feedback to the agency as needed.
Participate in program reviews for local departments of social services and voluntary child-care agencies when assigned, including Child Protective, Foster Care, Voluntary agency and Child and family Services reviews.
Work with Local Districts and Voluntary Agencies when assigned when assigned to assist in oversight/monitoring activities.
Collaborate with other regional office staff on assignments when needed.
Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.
Additional Comments A valid NYS Driver’s license is required.
