Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications This position is open to candidates who are reachable on the Information Technology Specialist 2, G-18, Civil Service eligible list OR have one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 2, G-18. This position is also open to NYS employees at or above G-16 who are eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second, consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two grades. In order to qualify for a Section 52.6 transfer, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a qualifying administrative title such as Information Technology Specialist 2 (Programming), G-18; Business Systems Analyst 1, G-18; or Telecommunications Analyst 2, G-18. In order to qualify for a Section 70.1 transfer, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service as a Supervising Computer Operator, G-18.

Duties Description The Batch Bureau is part of the Statewide Financial System (SFS) Operations Division and is responsible for oversight and maintenance of batch scheduling and transmission support for SFS. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring the SFS batch schedule and calendar of system maintenance activities, performing manual workarounds in the system in response to processing failures, and troubleshooting user issues and automated batch processing failures.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Batch schedule changes, maintenance and support, including on-call
• Processing and distribution of statewide reports
• Coordinate interface maintenance with OSC and external interface owners to ensure accurate and timely SFS operation
• Incident management and response
• Ad hoc project responsibilities
