Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Must be able to write and communicate proficiently. The ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful but not required. Attention to detail and good judgement are necessary. Prior business office experience and some college studies preferred. Ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment; work independently, resolve issues and set priorities as assigned by supervisor. Must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills and strong computer and spreadsheet skills, including Excel 2016, Word 2016, Outlook 2016 and Access 2016.
Duties Description Serve as the administrative assistant for the New York City Regional Office. While situated at the reception desk, answer telephones, take and relay accurate messages, greet staff, visitors and patrons in a friendly and courteous manner. Utilize a multi-line phone set.
Perform office tasks such as data entry, filing, alphabetizing, copying and other related tasks using computers, postage machines and other standard office equipment.
Learn and use in-house databases to process payroll, purchasing and personnel transactions while adhering to established deadlines.
Create databases and spreadsheets as needed to record and streamline office procedures.
Handle complaints or inquiries from park patrons regarding the quality of their experience, the cleanliness of park facilities, noise from other facility users, and other related customer service issues for regional office and all State parks in the New York City region.
Additional Comments Operational Needs:
Candidate must be able to work 37.5 hours a week, Monday through Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and possible extended weekday hours. Candidate must be eligible to accept employment in the United States.
