Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Reachable on the open-competitive Health Service Nurse eligible list, or eligible for 70.1 transfer.

Duties Description Based at the Utica State Office Building, the incumbent will work independently without direct on-site supervision with primary duties which will include:

• At least 60% travel to offsite clinics throughout the State, including Central and Western New York.

• Conducting medical diagnostic tests using a variety of equipment, including blood pressure cuffs, vision machine (ortho-rater), hearing machine, electrocardiography (ECG) machine, and spirometer (pulmonary).

• Performing phlebotomy, calibrating and adjusting instruments, and recording test results independently.

• Obtaining urine samples for drug testing, including a chain of custody forms, and assisting with the packaging of blood specimens.

Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
