Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Permanent status as an Addictions Program Specialist 3, G-25 and interested in reassignment; OR reachable for permanent appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list for Addictions Program Specialist 3; or eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law (i.e., Addictions Program Specialist 2).
Duties Description This position is part of the Bureau of Talent Management/Credentialing Unit.
• Manages the OASAS credentialing function, including: initial and renewal applications; administration of exam; reciprocity and retirement processes; criminal background check and staff exclusion list determination processing, coordination of the complaint process, and the call center.
• Ensures all applications and credentialing materials are up to date and consistent with current OASAS regulations, NYS laws and the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) requirements.
• Works with ITS to ensure that the database/application is effective, efficient and accurate and meets all state and IC&RC requirements.
• Oversees and maintains the Credentialing website.
• Manages all data requests and inquiries about credentialed individuals.
• Coordinates appointments to the Credentials Board; coordinates and manages bi-annual meetings and serves as Agency liaison to the Credentials Board.
• Works with OASAS Counsel’s Office and Investigations Unit to uphold the ethical standards of OASAS’ credentials. This includes coordinating the intake and outcome of complaints against credentialed individuals and ensuring reports are made to all required state and federal entities when credentials are suspended or revoked.
• Serves as New York’s designated “Administrator” to the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium.
• Ensures that Unit policies & procedures are up-to-date and consistent with the statutory, regulatory and IC&RC standards. Works with Counsel’s Office to ensure regulations accurately reflect the credentialing process and the laws, regulations and policies that govern them.
• Supervises Credentialing supervisors and staff.
• Travel to and participate in IC&RC conferences, statewide meetings, conferences, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
