Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title and eligible for reassignment, or one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-9 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law, or reachable on the current promotion eligible list for this title. The only title eligible to transfer to Identification Examiner 2 is Office Assistant 2.

Duties Description The incumbents will be responsible for processing fingerprints, including verifying, validating, ensuring the accuracy of images and assigning patterns; interpreting and modifying criminal history records and other data on Division of Criminal Justice Services files to ensure accuracy; resolving transactions requiring special handling, including issues such as poor quality or possible mixed identifications; handling FBI discrepancies; and answering various calls in the Communications Unit. The incumbents will work as a part of a team to ensure processing is on schedule and meets all standards.

Additional Comments Appointment is subject to Division of Budget waiver approval.
