Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications In order to be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable from the appropriate Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.

Duties Description The incumbent of this position will perform duties consistent with the standard for this title in the Transportation Maintenance Residency Office. As such, the selected candidate will process transactions; maintain records, documents, and information; and produce correspondence, reports, charts, etc. Incumbents must be able to read, understand, and apply procedures, rules, regulations and laws.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
•Sorting and distributing mail;

•Maintaining records and files;

•Answering telephones and appropriately responding to or referring inquiries made by employees, vendors, and customers;

•Maintaining department databases;

•Providing assistance to the Transportation Office Assistant 2 in the administration of the residency program which may include Personnel,

•Purchasing, and Training related activities, such as:
Processing paperwork and data entry for personnel transactions and conducting employee orientations;

•Assisting with ordering and receiving supplies and creating purchase orders and vouchers; and

•Distributing and tracking training related information and tracking and editing TRINFO data as needed.

Preferred candidates will possess excellent written and oral communication skills as well as proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
