Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled journey-level position which would provide training equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship program. Apprentice training in a trade or training gained by the completion of technical courses in a trade at a school or institute may be substituted for the above experience on a year-for-year basis.

Duties Description Repair and maintain buildings and other structures. Operate and complete routine maintenance on various pieces of construction equipment. Supervise and assign jobs for crews and oversee the work being done be contractors. Purchase supplies and materials in accordance with Department policy and procedures. Complete daily reports. Operate heavy equipment.

Additional Comments Must have and maintain a valid NYS drivers license. Must have a CDL Class A license or obtain one within 6 months of appointment. Will be required to operate heavy equipment. Basic carpentry and electrical skills preferred. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Overnight travel may be required for state sponsored activities. Length of position to be discussed at the interview.

This position is funded through 03/31/19 with a possibility of continuing after that date. Work days and hours will be discussed at interview.
