Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be in title, eligible for 70.1 transfer, or reachable on the Civil Service Eligible List. Provisional appointment may be considered. Provisional candidates will be required to take an exam. There are no minimum education or experience requirements for this exam. However, for those who pass the written test, prior to being considered for appointment, you will be required to pass a keyboarding test that demonstrates your ability to enter text at a rate of at least 30 words per minute with at least 96% accuracy.
Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) provides high-quality, person centered services, supports and advocacy to approximately 120,000+ individuals with developmental disabilities in New York State. We are guided in our interactions with the people we serve and each other by compassion, dignity, diversity, excellence and honesty. The Office Assistant 1 will perform entry-level office support and clerical work to meet the requirements of Broome Human Resources Management Office.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Such work may consist of, but is not limited to:
• Data entry;
• Math or calculations;
• Mail, supply, and inventory-related tasks;
• Keyboarding and other document preparation tasks;
• Answering telephones;
• Completing forms;
• Assisting staff;
• Creating or assisting in the preparation of reports, charts, graphs, and tables; and other related activities.
• This work is accomplished in accordance with applicable rules and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
