Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must be reachable for appointment on the current NYS Civil Service eligible list or a current New York State employee eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 or Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

For Provisional Appointment:
Candidates appointed provisionally must take a NYS Civil Service examination and their score must be reachable on the resulting eligible list before they can be permanently appointed. Candidates who do not pass the examination or achieve a reachable score may not be retained. The next Civil Service examination for Program Operations Specialist 1 has not been scheduled.
The minimum qualifications for this title are: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and two years of professional clinical or administrative experience in a federal or state certified developmental disabilities program agency. One year of this experience must have been in a professional administrative position in which a major duty involved planning, coordinating, and/or evaluating a statewide, regional, or DDSO program for people with developmental disabilities.

Substitution: A master`s degree in a human services specialty or in public administration, business administration or hospital administration may be used to substitute for up to one year of the non-specific experience.

Note: Strong organizational, computer and writing skills are preferred.

Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate IMU trainings including scheduling dates, securing locations, adding to SLMS, setting up webex, maintain rosters and prepare necessary training materials.

• Responsible for on boarding all new hires within the unit. This includes all computer equipment/telephones and gather all access forms, shared folders, mailboxes, and databases.

• Maintain and provide ongoing technical assistance for the Listserv database for both state operated and voluntary provider agencies dedicated mailboxes.

• Maintain statewide Incident Management Unit’s administrative mailbox. Respond to inquiries, provide information and assistance and clarify policies and procedures relative to incident management as appropriate.

• Work with staff in the development and understanding of the Part 624 (14 NYCRR Part 624) handbook, commentary and FAQs and provide advice and direction as appropriate.

• Maintain the IMU webpage to ensure all content, forms and contact information is current and accurate.

• Maintain tracking of the Justice Center’s VPCR licenses for OPWDD.

• Complete other tasks as assigned within multiple areas of the incident management unit.
