Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title or one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-21 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law, or a reachable score on the Civil Service eligible list for this title.

Duties Description The Training Specialist 2 will serve as the Director of Training Programs and be responsible for managing and supervising the many workforce and leadership development efforts for DCJS and hosted agencies. Duties will include, but are not limited to, developing, coordinating and presenting live training to agency and host agency staff; researching existing training and developing course curricula for new live and online training; obtaining quotes from vendors, preparing draft contracts and coordinating with vendors to provide training; developing surveys to assess training needs; obtaining GOER certification to deliver GOER training classes; coordinating the training plan for mandated State and agency training; administering DCJS training certificate programs; identifying training programs based on the individual needs of employees and/or program areas; serving as the primary system administrator for the Statewide Learning Management System (SLMS); and other duties as assigned. The Training Specialist 2 will supervise a Training Specialist 1.

Additional Comments Appointment is subject to Division of Budget waiver approval.
