Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must be reachable on the Program Aide eligible list or eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
To be eligible for a 70.1 transfer to a Program Aide, SG-13, a candidate must have one year of permanent competitive service in a qualifying title allocated to a salary grade 11 or higher.

Duties Description · Pension Recovery:
o Draft subpoenas for bank records
o Review large volumes of subpoenaed financial records to determine where retirement funds have been moved
o Analyze cases and draft written memorandums summarizing the relevant facts and next steps for handling
o Refer cases to Division of Legal Services, Division of Investigations or the Office of the Attorney General for further investigation and processing
o Coordinate the settlement of non-criminal recovery cases and obtain approval from Counsel for the Retirement System, Accounting, etc.
o Process recovered funds and prepare receipt memos to account for incoming funds
o Track the investigation/processing of all civil recovery matters referred to Pension Integrity for review
· Independent Contractor/Employee (ICE):
o Maintain and update databases as required including MEBEL, FileNet, and Lotus Notes
o Review files forwarded from other units to determine if sufficient data exists to make a determination
o Compile and organize documentation requested from public employers throughout the state
o Verify forms are properly completed
o Request additional documentation if necessary
o Actively follow up on requests to insure timely completion of cases
· Elected & Appointed Officials:
o Review and maintain Resolutions and Affidavits sent by participating employers
o Verify materials are properly completed
o Draft correspondence to employer explaining our rejection of the materials received
o Answer questions from employers and members via phone, mail and email
o Maintain and updated databases as required including MEBEL, FileNet, Lotus Notes, and Microsoft Access
o Maintain audit findings sent by the Employer Education Unit
o Research appropriate databases and employer’s website for any other outstanding issues
o Send Resolution never submitted and Resolution overdue letters as needed
o Prepare salary and service requests for any adjustments required
o Make copies of information regarding specific members to send to files for scanning into the member’s folder
