Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Eligible for a lateral transfer or a 70.1 transfer by having one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title*.

*In addition, candidates must be able to enter text at a rate of 30 words per minute corrected with at least 96% accuracy. Candidates must either provide documentation of their typing skills or pass a performance test before being considered for appointment.

PROVISIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Data Entry Machine Operator, Data Entry Machine Operator (Spanish Language), Keyboard Specialist 1, Keyboard Specialist 1 (Spanish Language), Keyboard Specialist 2, Keyboard Specialist 2 (Spanish Language), Law Department Document Specialist, Law Department Document Specialist Trainee 1, Law Department Document Specialist Trainee 2, Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding, Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding (Chinese Language), Office Assistant 1 Keyboarding (Spanish Language), Office Assistant 2 Keyboarding, Office Assistant 2 Keyboarding (Spanish Language), or Senior Data Entry Machine Operator.

Duties Description The specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers and the public in person, on the telephone, and in writing;
• Perform clerical and secretarial functions such as scanning and file maintenance, scheduling meetings, taking care of office machinery, handling mail and office supplies;
• Prepare, finalize and distribute audit reports according to office protocol for central office and regional office managers;
• Complete required administrative reports timely and accurately;
• Process manual employment verifications;
• Serve as AQI Intranet content liaison;
• Distribute and monitor executive correspondence and track, prepare and transmit responses from managers;
• Support the AQI Director, including correspondence, telephones, scheduling, travel; and
• Perform other administrative tasks, as necessary.

Additional Comments You must be a current New York State employee to apply for this position. A full-time, permanent or provisional appointment will be made. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title.
