Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Eligible for a lateral transfer or eligible for a 70.1 transfer by having one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title;

Duties Description The Office Assistant 2 (Customer Service) is responsible for obtaining records, preparing files, recording arrival time and other information on calendars, and inserting documents into the fair hearing file. They refer appellants to waiting areas and respond to inquiries from appellants and their representatives regarding the hearing process. They make photocopies of client documents and enter aid-continuing violation notifications at the request of the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ). They also enter corrections provided by the ALJs on the files and enter information as to the disposition of the cases on the on-line calendars, and review and notate defaulted files. They print and file waiver of appearance packets for outside agencies. They may process SOS decisions. They assist in maintaining order in the waiting rooms and maintain supplies, documents, files, etc. in an orderly fashion for courier pickup. Under the direction of a supervisor, they may be asked to assist in processing adjournments, aid-continuing violation redirects, and compliance complaints and enter hearing requests on-line as needed. They may enter new hearings requests at the request of the hearing officer.
Additional Comments Appointment to this position is contingent upon Division of Budget approval to fill. You must be a current New York State employee to apply for this position. A full-time, permanent appointment will be made. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title.
This position includes $3026 in location pay.
