Minimum Qualifications 1. Permanent service as a Senior Occupational Therapist

2. Eligible to 70.1 transfer to a Senior Occupational Therapist with one year of post licensure occupational therapy experience AND be licensed and currently registered to practice as an Occupational Therapist in New York State. 3. Open Competitive: Senior Occupational Therapist: Licensed and currently registered to practice as an Occupational Therapist in New York State AND have one year of post licensure occupational therapy experience.
Duties Description • Provides evaluation, direct treatment, training and consultation services in the areas of dining, ADL’s, independent living skills and sensory processing/integration needs.
• Completes Occupational Therapy (OT) evaluations prior to annual review or as needed. Provides training and consultation to all staff on OT related topics. Provides training on specific individual related issues. Attends annual ISP’s.
• Provide treatment that reflect results of evaluation. Evaluates progress on plans quarterly or more often if needed.
• Provides training in OT plans and in the use of adaptive equipment; and in-service training to the direct care staff, residential supervisors and clinicians working with the individuals, both at day program and the residential homes.
• Prepares paperwork which includes narrative form of evaluating goal plans, monthly notes and quarterly and annual review notes indicating individual progress.
• Participates as a member of the Inter-disciplinary Treatment Team. Attends all treatment team meetings. Consults with other members of the team regarding integration of plans.
• Experience evaluating sensory needs to develop and implement customized sensory diets/treatment plans, with a focus on meeting sensory needs to decrease challenging behaviors.
Additional Comments Shift: 8:00AM – 4:30PM primarily. Some evening/night work necessary
*Flexibility required: 4 hours on a weekend, and 1 evening shift until 7PM per month

• CAPA: Must be cleared by the NYS Central Register for Child Abuse and Maltreatment, if position requires working with minors and not previously cleared.
