Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 1 (G23); OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above G21 and eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 or Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law to a Health Program Administrator 1 (G23).
The preferred candidate will demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on the ability to work well in a team and under time pressures. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office 365 products. Experience developing and conducting training. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills for diverse audiences. Ability to work independently and manage multiple and changing priorities in a high-volume work environment.

Duties Description The Health Program Administrator 1 (HPA1) will serve as Outreach Coordinator for the New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS) and oversee efforts ensure all NYS health care providers are reporting to NYSIIS per Public Health Law 2168. The HPA 1 will coordinate outreach efforts to health care providers that need assistance and guidance with immunization reporting requirements; monitor and track compliance efforts; develop monthly reports on providers out of compliance; oversee development and modifications of training materials and curriculum, including monthly live webinars; conduct analyses of training activities and provider feedback; coordinate regional NYSIIS user group meetings; develop and maintain the NYSIIS website; develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with partners both within and outside of the agency, including local health departments and the New York Citywide Immunization Registry (CIR) staff; represent the Program at conferences, coalition meetings, other stakeholder meetings, etc.; Conduct quality assurance and improvement tasks related to assessing and validating immunization records; Give health care providers information and resources to facilitate improved data quality; Develop and track performance measures and quality improvement strategies for the NYSIIS; Supervision of staff.

Additional Comments Contingent-Permanent, full-time. Occasional travel to locations that may not be served by public transportation is required.
