Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates may apply if eligible for appointment by one of the following qualifications:
52.7 NON-COMPETITIVE PROMOTION (NCP) QUALIFICATIONS: To be eligible for NCP, candidates must be in the Department of Labor promotion field and have one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55 b/c service as a Supervising Unemployment Insurance Reviewing Examiner, M-2. In accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, if 3 or fewer qualified Department of Labor Supervising Unemployment Insurance Reviewing Examiner, M-2s, respond to this posting, Civil Service may approve the permanent appointment of one of the qualified candidates without further examination.
Note: Non-competitive refers to not competing in an examination; this appointment will be competitive.
52.6 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS: One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55b/c service in a Grade 29/M-3 or higher title determined to be administrative under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
*Consecutive transfers cannot result in advancement of more than two salary grades or one M-grade.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
As Chief of Unemployment Insurance Liability Review you would plan, direct, coordinate and evaluate all activities of, and develop policy for, the Unemployment Insurance Division’s, Liability and Determination section, Employer Accounts Adjustment section, and UI Central Assignment and Collections section. You would also assist the Director of Adjudication Services and participate in various high-level policy issues.
Additional Comments Permanent, if a transfer or non-competitive promotion examination is approved; otherwise, the appointment will be provisional pending examination.
Please Note: Positions in the Unemployment Insurance Division may be in-person, remote, or partially remote and partially in-person. Remote employees will be required to report in-person if directed. Positions may be subject to mandatory and/or voluntary overtime, which may include evening and weekend hours. Shift start times may vary based on operational need.
