Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 1, G-23 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above a G-21 and deemed eligible for transfer to Health Program Administrator 1, G-23 under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of public health programs. Ability to work with a diverse group of professionals in a team environment; excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments; some knowledge of federal and state regulations with regards to compliance and; ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications. Understanding of database and spreadsheets as well as other computer software applications.
Duties Description As a Health Program Administrator 1 in the MARO DON BSI, you will be working in a team environment. In conjunction with the Regional BSI Deputy Director, the Health Program Administrator 1 will assist with the oversight of all Regional BSI activities and serve as liaison with central office BSI staff. Duties include supervising investigative staff by assigning cases, reviewing reports, tracking the status of investigations, providing training and technical assistance, and evaluating staff performance as well as supervising administrative support staff. Duties may include analyzing, tracking, and reporting on program activities.
