Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil
Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service
Law.

Duties Description DUTIES:
The incumbent will assist in the various activities of the Freight and Passenger Rail Bureau (FPRB), including but not limited to:

• Participate in FPRB activities related to Statewide Financial System (SFS);
• Coordinate with Transportation Budgeting Bureau on contract and budget issues;
• Conduct funding analysis and reporting;
• Assist in developing guidance for future project solicitations for state rail programs;
• Develop and manage rail GIS data;
• Collect and analyze rail and port related data (e.g. railroad annual report);
• Analyze ridership and revenue data associated with Amtrak operations in New York;
• Assist in tracking of MWBE and SDVOB utilization on FPRB projects;
• Assist in other areas of the FPRB as needed.

Occasional travel would be expected; however, many meetings may be attended via conference calls.

Candidate should possess good communication and meeting facilitation skills, be familiar with contract and procurement processes, Excel, Access and other databases. Proficiency in ArcGIS is desirable.

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the New York State Department of Transportation’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
