Minimum Qualifications Transfer Qualifications: Under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law: One year of permanent, competitive service in a title designated as appropriate for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Such titles include: Office Assistant 2, Office Assistant 2 Calculations, Office Assistant 2 Stores/Mail.

In addition, keyboarding proficiency is a minimum requirement of this position. If you have not previously
held a keyboarding position, you must pass the New York State Department of Civil Service Typing
Performance Test.

Division of Food Safety and Inspection Summary:

The Division of Food Safety and Inspection provides a vital service to people across the state by working to ensure that New York State’s food and feed supply is safe to consume. From licensing businesses and conducting inspections, to collaborating with local, state, and federal partners on new and innovative approaches to food safety, this work is critical to ensuring that the safety of the food supply is maintained from producer to consumer.

Job Summary:

The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is seeking interested candidates for an Office
Assistant 2 (Keyboarding) in Albany to assist the Information Services Unit within the Division of Food Safety
and Inspection. This individual will be responsible for supporting the work of the Division by assisting in the
electronic filing of inspection reports, scanning, and saving inspection reports and license applications, and
assisting in maintaining Division databases. In addition, this individual will assist in mailings and supply
fulfillment for field staff.
