Minimum Qualifications Transfer Qualifications: Under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law: One year of permanent, competitive service in a title designated as appropriate for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Such titles include: Office Assistant 3, Administrative Assistant 2, Program Aide.

Division of Food Safety and Inspection Summary:

The Division of Food Safety and Inspection provides a vital service to people across the state by working to ensure that New York State’s food and feed supply is safe to consume. From licensing businesses and conducting inspections, to collaborating with local, state, and federal partners on new and innovative approaches to food safety, this work is critical to ensuring that the safety of the food supply is maintained from producer to consumer.

Job Summary:

The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is seeking interested candidates for an Office Assistant 3 (Calculations) in Albany to assist the Licensing Unit within the Division of Food Safety and Inspection. The individual will have supervisory oversight over the 2 Office Assistant 2 positions within the Division’s Licensing Unit. Responsibilities include maintaining unit spreadsheets of license statuses and conveying same to field staff, Versa data entry and fee calculation and documentation, processing refunds, generating jurisdictional letters.

Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
