Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Qualifying experience equivalent to a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) is preferred. Preferred candidates would possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in a human services related field (including but not limited to Social Work, Sociology, Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, etc.) and minimum of one year of experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Reachable on the Civil Service List for DDPS 1; OR
• Currently serving as an DDPS 1 and eligible for transfer; OR
• One year of permanent competitive service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the NYS Civil Service Law.
Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of a Social Work Supervisor 1 for CAS Operations, the DDPS 1, Assessment Staff supervisor, is responsible for supervising assessors across DDRO regions.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Oversee the activities of an assigned team assessors across multiple DDRO regions including but not limited to time off requests, time and attendance records, dissemination of information from the CAS central office team, monitor productivity and staff training requirements, etc.
• Schedule and coordinate regular meeting with assessors to conduct a “Community of Practice”, share information and give feedback and guidance.
• Report assessment and assessment operations issues/concerns to the SWS1 as appropriate.
• Help facilitate and act as a liaison for assessors with various state and not-for-profit agencies with individual’s assigned to the state for assessment, them and address any issues that may arise.
• Support the BAOC in preparing and presenting public information to stakeholders, and training/information sharing on assessment and assessment tool use to State, OPWDD offices/DDRO
• Manage protocols for assessor travel and caseloads.
• Maintain and complete assessment related timeline activities and deliverables as provided by Central Office.
• Complete all required documentation accurately utilizing the technology provided.
• Travel, in order to adequately supervise assessors’ as frequently as needed (approximately 50% to 65% of the time) including some weekend travel and overnight stays at hotels.
• Utilize flexible scheduling, including evening, and weekend hours as necessary.
• Manage multiple priorities effectively, including prioritizing work plans and work assignments and meeting deadlines.
• Attain set productivity standards, or an average number of assessments per month.
• Fulfill training and certification requirements prior to the utilization of the assessment tools and on an ongoing basis.
• Complete assessments as needed.
