Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor’s degree* and four years of specialized experience** described below, 1 year of which must be at a supervisory level
OR
an associate degree* and six years of specialized experience** described below, 1 year of which must be at a supervisory level
OR
eight years of specialized work experience** described below, 1 year of which must be at a supervisory level.

J.D.* or master’s degree* may substitute for one year of specialized experience; Ph.D.* may substitute for two years of specialized experience.
*Degree must be awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.

**The specialized experience must have been where your duties involved work utilizing the following skills:

• Experience in Human Resources, recruitment, or workforce development OR
• Experience as a project leader, supervisor, or manager

Preferred Qualifications: Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:

The Project Coordinator will serve as the Cannabis Workforce Navigator for the Division of Employment and Workforce Solutions (DEWS). The duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• serve as the primary point of contact and coordinator for cannabis workforce development and training programs in New York State;
• help connect businesses, educational institutions and other training providers to job seekers;
• assist in the development, implementation and management of a comprehensive cannabis workforce plan;
• liaise with Executive Chamber and DOL leadership team members and actively promote DOL services (using a sales approach) to businesses and job seekers;
• attend and serve on various intra and interagency advisory and task forces addressing the interpretation of procedural and policy issues relating to cannabis employment and training programs;
• build and maintain a strong relationship with training providers and business groups and review, monitor and evaluate Federal and State workforce employment and training programs to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, rules, regulations, and policies.

Additional Comments Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evening and/or out-stationed assignments.

Position is not overtime eligible.
