Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Laboratory Center Administrator 1(LCA1), M1 or other NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title equated to salary G-23 or higher, in a title deemed eligible for transfer to LCA1 under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferreed Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have supervisory and/or program management experience; broad experience with administrative processes including State purchasing and contract processes, knowledge of State budgeting processes; experience with Statewide Financial System and the DOB Agency Spending Control Application; experience in a public health regulatory or laboratory setting; excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills; and the ability to function independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Duties Description The incumbent will be responsible for the administrative oversight of the Wadsworth Center’s Fiscal Unit’s processes and staff and will assist Wadsworth management with fiscal processes. The unit processes/facilitates State purchases and payments via PCards and SFS, contractual purchases such as C, T and PA contracts, and monitors budgets and spending. The incumbent will prepare and/or review budget and purchase requests; monitor State and federal funds; formulate and implement internal policies and procedures; provide policy and process interpretation; act as a liaison to outside organizations/agencies; supervise administrative and/or secretarial staff, both directly and indirectly; and, serve as a Center representative at meetings, for special projects, etc. The incumbent may be required to hold a NYS procurement/credit card.
