Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer: Current NYS Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Public Health Field Services Representative 2 (G23); OR current NYS Department of Health employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service as a Public Health Representative 4 (G23) and eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Provisional: Current NYS Department of Health employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service as either a Public Health Field Service Representative 1 (G18) or a Public Health Representative 3 (G18).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field. At least two years of HIV/STD related experience or knowledge in HIV/STD testing, partner services, prevention, and surveillance. At least one year of experience with program or project management. At least one year of experience in the coordination of continuous quality improvement activities. Contract management experience, including fiscal aspects. At least three years of supervisory experience.
Duties Description The Public Health Field Services Representative 2 will serve in the Rochester Regional Office. The incumbent will coordinate and participate in program planning and implementation activities, including contributing to and coordinating the development of policies and procedures; coordinate and monitor the day-to-day activities of the HIV and STD Field Services program in the regional office; coordinate and monitor activities for established regional monitoring and outcome evaluation plan to ensure compliance with goals and objectives of BHSFS and DEEP; supervise and train staff tasked with interrupting transmission networks and ensuring patients are linked to care and treatment and that partners receive education, disease screening and treatment; and represent the BHSFS, DEEP and the AIDS Institute; and perform other appropriate related duties.
Additional Comments Permanent, Competitive Full Time. Occasional travel, including overnights and travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation, will be required (15%).
