Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 1, G-23 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above a G-21 and deemed eligible for transfer to Health Program Administrator 1, G-23 under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to work independently with excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in managed care, public insurance programs, or quality measurement and improvement is beneficial.

Duties Description The Health Program Administrator 1 will report to the Director of the Office-Based Surgery program. The responsibilities will include assisting the Office of Quality and Patient Safety (OQPS) with a variety of administrative and program tasks including communication with stakeholders, implementation of program policies and procedures, data management and quality assurance. More specifically, the responsibilities will include processing of received Office-Based Surgery (OBS) Adverse Event Reports according to the policies and procedures for quality of care reviews. Collaborate with the vendor contracted to complete comprehensive quality of care reviews for the sending and receiving of adverse event case materials, assuring confidentiality of Protected Health Information. Manage all aspects of medical record requests needed for completion of comprehensive quality of care reviews. Conduct file management, maintain program documentation, and communicate with accrediting organizations and accredited OBS practices. Answer the OBS Program phone line. Monitor the shared mailboxes for the OBS program and collaborate with Director of OBS program in responding. Collaborate with the OBS staff and the analytical team on routine updates received for the accreditation status of the OBS practices. Collaborate with the OBS team on the periodic revision to the OBS program website. Participate in OBS program meetings including those with the OBS multidisciplinary team, the OBS Advisory Committee, and the approved OBS accrediting organizations.
