Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess a master’s degree and 5 years of specialized experience in educational administration where the primary duties (greater than 50%) involved education finance, education finance research, or fiscal management. This experience must have been within an elementary, middle, or secondary educational institution, or in an educational oversight agency. Three years of this experience must have been at the supervisory level; or one year of the experience must have been at a managerial level.

Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s (NYSED) Office of Higher Education is seeking candidates for a Project Coordinator position in the Office of School Governance, Policy, and Religious and Independent Schools. Under the supervision of the Coordinator, Educational Aid Services, the Project Coordinator will serve as the Local District Financial Assistance (LDFA) Coordinator, leading a team of six ARP funded project positions. The incumbent will coordinate with programs and offices throughout NYSED, such as State Aid, Federal programs, facilities planning, or educational design and technology to ensure schools districts utilize the federal ARP-ESSER funding to develop infrastructure that will be sustainable. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Work with school districts to ensure they use federal and State aid efficiently and effectively;
• Coordinate with school districts to identify opportunities to invest in long-term cost-saving measures, and to use the one-time federal funding to handle the costs of transition to more effective management practices;
• Coordinate with NYSED offices that are tasked with implementing federal funds, learn federal requirements, so that the program will be implemented with fidelity;
• Provide intensive technical assistance to school districts related to fiscal health and internal controls, including reporting for federal program purposes;
• Work with BOCES to facilitate the use of shared services around the State, clearly identifying work that is to be funded with federal support; and
• Train and supervise ARP-funded staff in the office of Educational Management Services, so that technical assistance offered through this program is robust and ensures that districts make sustainable investments that will support long-term stability and improved student outcomes; and
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a temporary appointment. Promotions and transfers may change appointees’ negotiating unit.
