Minimum Qualifications Must be reachable on the Program Aide eligible list or eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
To be eligible for a 70.1 transfer to a Program Aide, SG-13, a candidate must have one year of permanent competitive service in a qualifying title allocated to a salary grade 11 or higher.
If list is exhausted, a provisional appointment may be made. You must meet the minimum qualifications and you must take the next scheduled exam (and have a reachable score to retain your position). You must pass competencies for this position.
To be appointed from the resulting eligible list, you must have at least one year of service in a qualifying title.
If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first or appointment for this title.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:
Proficient in Word, Excel, Access, MD Staff and PSV software. Experience in the health care industry. Medical staff office/credentialing experience a plus.
Duties Description The Program Aide is responsible for the credentialing and coordination of the physicians and Allied Health Professional's appointed to the Medical Staff at Helen Hayes Hospital; Responsible for coordinating the credentialing and re-credentialing process for all practitioners applying for medical or allied health staff membership and/or clinical privileges; Provide support for all credentialing functions within the Medical Staff Office; Understands and adheres to the HHH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors; Processes initial and/or reappointment application to the Medical Staff; Prepares applications for presentation to Credentials Committee; Coordinates for Patient Safety Committee; Understanding of time sensitive medical staff files; Identifies malpractice gaps; Works to maintain a credentialing process flow of 60-90 days; Familiar with TJC and NCQA on-going monitoring; Conducts PSV for licenses, DEA, Boards, meeting minutes, phone and office coverage etc. and other duties as assigned.
