Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades-worker or completion of an appropriate two year technical school course.
Duties Description Perform maintenance and rehabilitation work on infrastructure, including buildings, recreation facilities, bridges, dams, access roads, trails, boundary lines and wildlife management areas.
Will be required to perform moderate to heavy manual labor; operate heavy equipment, large tractors, and mowers; transport heavy equipment and haul gravel; climb a ladder and work on heights on scaffolds and platforms; and follow all safety standards and procedures.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Use of personal protection equipment, including respirator, will be required. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain and work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel, overnight travel and overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must obtain a Class B CDL within 12 months of appointment with appropriate endorsements and no air brake restriction. Will be subject to the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act (OTETA) of 1991, which requires employee testing for drug and alcohol abuse. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 80 pounds.
This is a temporary position currently funded through 3/31/23. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date which may be prior to date indicated. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
