Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service as an Office Assistant 2, G-9 OR one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title at or above a G-7 and eligible for transfer under section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Provisional Promotion: NYS DOH employee with one year or more permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status in an office assistant, clerical, or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 5 or higher. Preferred Qualifications: The ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities; knowledge of the Department’s policies and procedures; familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), scheduling meetings; making travel arrangements; experience using the NYS Statewide Financial System (SFS); and experience working with confidential matters.
Duties Description The Office Assistant 2 will assist with recruitment and fiscal activities of the Division including but not limited to: obtaining quotes for general equipment and supply purchases, monitoring invoicing associated with purchases, monitoring the status of payments processed through the NYS Statewide Financial System and archiving respective supporting documentation, assisting with the confidential recruitment process including: scheduling of interviews, assisting candidates with access, instructions and directions to their interviews, interview packets, and other duties as assigned.
Additional Comments Contingent-permanent or provisional, full time. Transfer candidates may be asked for their social security number to berify eligibility. If three or fewer New York State Department of Health promotional candidates respond to this notice, the agency may, at its discretion, nominate a qualified employee for non-competitive promotion under the provisions of Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law. Employees must have one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in qualifying titles as described on the last Civil Service promotion examination held for this title. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title.
