Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service as a Program Aide (G13) OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent permanent, competitive service in a title at or above a (G11) and eligible for transfer to a Program Aide (G13) under section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in the use of MS office, including MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and Office. Strong attention to detail and complete tasks accurately while handling multiple priorities in a busy office environment, and the ability to handle email and telephone inquiries from providers and stakeholders efficiently.

Duties Description The Program Aide will work in the Provider Approval, Due Process, and Monitoring Unit in the Bureau of Early Intervention (BEI), within the Division of Family Health (DFH). The BEI Provider Approval, Due Process and Monitoring Unit is responsible for processing approximately 700 provider applications (individuals and agencies) annually. In addition, there are approximately 750 ongoing reapproval applications, which have a five-year cycle in most instances. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; processing agency provider amendment requests, processing agency provider re-approvals, communicate with agency providers regarding application, and renewal of NY State Education Waivers of Corporate Practice, and provide technical assistance to providers about their amendments, re-approvals, and SED Waivers. Additional responsibilities will include processing individual provider’s request to add facility sites to their approvals and to process agency and individual withdrawal requests.
