Minimum Qualifications Must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-B/55-C service in a clerical, keyboarding, or paraprofessional* title allocated to grade 7 or higher. Only paraprofessional titles in an office environment will be considered qualifying. Service in a direct care title is not qualifying experience. As a Stores and Mail Operations Supervisor, you would work as a second level supervisor over lower level clerical staff, vehicle operators, and/or unskilled staff, in the perforamce of office support and clerical work, or manual labor, related to storing, receiving and distributing goods, materials, commodities, or other property.
Duties Description Supervise the commissary operation. Places food and supply orders, inventories daily, weekly and monthly to maintain and monitor stocking levels. Supervises up to three civilians and eight incarcerated individual workers. Unloads delivery trucks, stocks and rotates products, completes incarcerated individuals payroll sheets and evaluations for program purposes. Maintains sanitation standards, monitors freezers and coolers for proper temperatures and rotation. Processes orders for the special housing unit and daily incarcerated individuals orders at the windows.
Additional Comments Candidates will be required to take the NYS Civil Service examination for Stores/Mail Operations Supervisor and score as a reachable candidate.
