Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current or previous one-year permanent service as an Office Assistant 3.
OR
One year current or previous permanent service in a designated clerical series title within two salary grades, per the 70.1 transfer plan.

Reachable on the Civil Service list for this title.

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Human Resources Office is responsible for, and committed to, ensuring the highest level of professional services and support to a variety of customers. The ultimate goal is to ensure the best possible qualify services are offered to people receiving services. We are guided in our interactions with the people we serve and each other by compassion, dignity, diversity, excellence and honesty. The Human Resources Office represents OPWDD on all matters related to personnel management including, but not limited to, classification, examination, recruitment/retention, succession planning, labor relations, performance evaluations, employee benefits, etc.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare and process payroll transactions in the HRMO, NYSTEP and Payserv systems.
• Responsible for item maintenance, maintaining clearances, reclassification submissions, increased minimums, earmark removals, following up with Classification and Compensation and Division of Budget.
• Proficient with the TIMES System, and Time and Attendance rules and regulations.
• Coordinate, submit and track Disciplinary Settlements with the Payroll Office.
• Oversee annual Comp over 40 program, Bi-annual and annual accrual adjustment for ET and PLA.
• Maintain annual audits of Vacation/Sick, 20% audit
• Track leaves, projected vacancies, and probationary leaves
• Maintain/run/distribute appropriate Crystal Reports bi-weekly and as special projects occur
• Administer the Keyboard Proficiency Exam
• Receive Criminal Background check results, maintain Search and Retain, run various other background checks
• Annual file maintenance
• Supervise clerical staff
• Meet with and respond to employees as needed in a professional and timely manner
• Will be cross-trained to provide backup coverage in a variety of areas
• Assisting with office projects as they occur
• Maintain confidentiality
