Minimum Qualifications Permanent transfer candidates: Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Program Administrator (G18), Health Program Administrator Trainee 2 (NS) or Health Program administrator Trainee 1 (NS); OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to a Health Program Administrator (G18), Health Program Administrator Trainee 1 (NS), or Health Program Administrator Trainee 2 (NS). Preferred Qualifications: The applicant should be able to work independently and be able to handle multiple assignments. In addition, an applicant should possess good organizational skills and be able to work cooperatively in a team-based environment. Ability to effectively work in a dynamic office and prioritize multiple assignments. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in a range of digital tools, for example, Microsoft Excel or Visio, websites, Outlook, Teams, or other calendaring tools.
Duties Description The Health Program Administrator Trainee will support the Center for Health Data Innovation. The selected candidate will assist with a variety of administrative functions including ensuring compliance with Departmental human resources processes, assisting the director to coordinate training activities for technical and programmatic staff within the Center and coordinating with the administrative services unit on Office-wide activities and requests. The HPA Trainee will also coordinate internal control monitoring, assist with office space planning and provide ad hoc support to programs. The Center for Health Data Innovation is focused on the collecting, maintaining and enabling the access and appropriate use of health care data to support a broad range of stakeholders and use cases allowing for the monitoring of efforts to improve quality of care, conduct population health research and reduce health care costs.
Additional Comments Contingent-permanent, competitive full-time. Two year traineeship leading to a G18. Transfer candidates may be asked for SSN to verify title history and eligibility.
