Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive service as an Administrative Assistant 2 or one year of permanent competitive service in an office assistant, clerical, secretarial or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 13 or higher eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Transfer candidates may be required to demonstrate keyboarding proficiency by passing the keyboarding performance test.
Duties Description The Administrative Assistant 2 will provide administrative support to the Administration Unit. The Administration unit is responsible for management, enforcement and clerical support for the Division; Licensing FOIL requests; creation and status updates for complaints and inspections. The unit also maintains final disposition of cases including the collection of fines, penalties and license status updates initiated by hearing determinations and consent orders.
The Administrative Assistant 2 in this unit is responsible for the management of FOIL requests, docketing complaints and inspections; enforcing hearing determinations and consent orders; responding to inquiries from Executive staff; answering phones and supervision of clerical staff as well as Board Coordinator.
The unit manages 1,500 complaints annually and processes over 1,200 FOIL request each year.
