Minimum Qualifications
Current New York State employee with permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service as a BSC Representative 2 and interested in reassignment; OR current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service in a position allocated to a Grade 12 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Provisional Pending Examination – Promotional
Must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of General Services and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service:
Either A. as a Business Services Center Representative 1;
Or B. in an office assistant, clerical, or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 9 or higher.

Duties Description
The incumbent will perform a wide range of professional duties within the Support Services Records Management line of the Business Services Center (BSC) to support the BSC’s core mission. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Lead daily “huddles” for team members and assign work as appropriate.
• Assign work daily using performance metrics.
• Conduct both written and telephone communications and prepare correspondence to customers, personnel liaisons, and program administrators in response to their questions and requests.
• Give advice and assistance in the performance of complex tasks related to the assigned service line.
• Handle escalated inquiries from customers.
• Consistently provide quality customer service to all Business Service Center customers (i.e. customer agencies, state employees, personnel liaisons, etc.

The Business Services Center (BSC) was established in September 2012 to make Human Resources and Finance transaction processing consistent across New York State government agencies. Since its inception, the BSC has increased efficiencies and lowered costs across the state.
