Provisional: Bachelor’s degree and seven years of experience* in diversity and inclusion, equal opportunity, or human rights. Two years of the experience must have been at a managerial level.

*Qualifying experience includes work with community service organizations concerned with diversity and inclusion, equal opportunity, civil rights, training, and upgrading the educational and job qualifications of protected class members; and human resources or labor relations experience directly related to diversity and inclusion.
The ideal candidate will possess the following competencies:

Duties Description Reporting to the Director of Diversity & Inclusion Management, the duties of the Manager of Diversity & Inclusion will include the following:

• Working with the Director to advance statewide initiatives related to the development and implementation of statewide diversity and inclusion policies, targeted outreach and recruitment, and diversity, equity, and inclusion-related training.

• Managing the Division’s day-to-day activities and assignments, including overseeing multiple teams responsible for the execution of policy related to diversity and inclusion and equal employment opportunity programs for agencies.

• Supervising staff in conducting diversity and inclusion surveys and performing a review and analysis of the resultant data.

• Managing the production of reports that analyze State workforce management trends and working with the Director to operationalize recommendations based on the findings.

• Evaluating agencies’ progress in meeting objectives and recommending any corrective action.

• Providing expert advice to internal and external customers on diversity and inclusion, equal opportunity, and reasonable accommodation issues.

• Reviewing proposed legislation or programs related to merit system activities to assess their impact on diversity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunities; and making appropriate recommendations.
