Minimum Qualifications 30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries; marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography.
Duties Description This position includes implementing an angler survey that involves direct contact interviews of anglers and recording data from fishing trips. Field activities will also include participation in Lake Erie fish sampling aboard RV Argo and other vessels. Other data processing will occur as office work. Other field and lab work will be required as needed.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and in adverse weather conditions. Travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Must have certification to operate motorized boats or personal water crafts within one month of appointment.
This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 4/1/2022 through 11/30/22 subject to funding approval. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the time of an interview.
