Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The person in this position will provide supervision and support to Psychology Department staff at Valley Ridge Center for Intensive Treatment and the Glenwood Rd. SOICF. The department provides professional psychological services to individuals residing in ICF settings and receiving services in Region 2 Broome. As a Licensed Psychologist they will also mentor unlicensed psychology department staff. They participate in committees and participate in establishing or revising policies/procedures as well as implementing current and new agency initiatives.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Completes forensic evaluations to include Article 15 involuntary retentions, CPL 730 assessments, and suitability assessments
• Evaluates and oversees a variety of psychological services to individuals including specialized assessments and interventions.
• Provides clinical leadership in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological disorders.
• Reviews and approves capability to consent determinations, including sexual consent, behavior management and medical treatment issues annually and or as needed.
• Supervises psychology department staff in analyzing behavioral data and writing progress notes.
• Reviews Risk Assessment and Risk Management Plans as required and trains existing and new Psychology staff to do so.
• Serves as instructor/facilitator and supervisor including working with new and existing staff.
• As needed, provides individual or group counseling and writes either a specific note or incorporates it within the general monthly notes.
• Attends departmental meetings and team staff meetings.
• Serves on DDSOO and or statewide committees or task forces, when requested.
• Travel is required within the six-county catchment area and occasionally outside the area for administrative meetings and training opportunities as needed. Other duties as assigned including on-call assignments. Participation in Administrator on Call (AOC) system is required.
