Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 2 and reachable on the Information Technology Specialist 3 list OR in a position at G-21 or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a position approved for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades. Candidates reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title will be considered through a canvass and do not need to apply to this vacancy posting.

Duties Description The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an Information Technology Specialist 3 (Database) to work within the Application Development Group of the Business Solutions section. The incumbent will assist in the maintenance and support of several Oracle Forms and Reports applications and associated Java and e-payments applications. Knowledge and experience with Oracle PL/SQL will be critical. Additionally, there will new development projects to migrate, re-engineer/re-write older applications into a new, more modern technology stack. The incumbent may also participate in the migration of existing reports to an Oracle OBIEE environment.

DUTIES:
• Develop new or modify existing; Oracle PL/SQL programs
• As part of a team: help maintain and support four Oracle Forms and Reports applications used by the agency
• Assist end-users in support of these Oracle Forms applications
• Maintain and support database business logic in Oracle PL/SQL for a public-facing E-payments application
• Write Oracle SQL queries to meet user reporting requirements, such as FOIL requests
• Assist with application and server upgrades and testing
• Development of new applications or the migration of existing apps to a new Microsoft-centric technology
stack or other new technologies.
• Work with team members to coordinate development and support activities
• Additional duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL; 10g or newer
• Experience writing complex SQL queries
• Experience supporting end-users
• Experience troubleshooting complex problems that require coordination with other IT units
• Experience as a software developer
