Minimum Qualifications Required Qualifications:

Associate's degree (may be substituted with additional related support experience) and two (2) years of full-time related support experience.
Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to coordinate, manage, and consult with persons from all levels to facilitate the use of computer technology in the classroom, office, computer labs, and other special purpose computing areas.
Demonstrated technical troubleshooting skills and knowledge of computer technology.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience with IT ticketing systems.
Ability to work occasional evening hours and weekends as required by the College.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related area, and two (2) years of full-time related experience.
Experience with E-card systems.
Experience working in higher education.
Experience supervising a student support staff.

Duties Description The Desktop Engineer will report to the Information Technology Services (ITS) department under the supervision of the Enterprise Infrastructure Services Manager. The incumbent will function in a dual role: 1) supporting the Auxiliary Service Corporation's Campus Card technical requirements, and 2) providing ITS department support including supporting various technologies in the Desktop Engineering area and production environments. This full-time position will require occasional evening hours and weekends.

Responsibilities:

Support and trouble shoot Campus Card hardware/software, Point of Sale, PAX Terminals, Light Networking, Laundry Readers/Controllers for ASC and integrated partners. On-call support for card system interruptions.
Assist faculty, staff, and students with the installation and maintenance of desktop/laptop and related hardware/software.
Install and operate computer lab equipment for faculty, staff, and students.
Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and install information technology systems, hardware and computer peripherals, including but not limited to networking equipment, point of sale devices, printers, mobile devices (laptops, iPhone, iPad, Android, etc.).
Maintain computer desktop and laptop systems inventories and repair records.
Respond to student/employee calls/emails for technical assistance.
Process and track service desk repair and maintenance requests. Document failures of workstation, and peripheral equipment and resolutions.
Assist in scheduling and overseeing service desk student employees.
Troubleshoot alongside vendor technical support on enterprise solutions.
Maintain contact with vendors through the ticketing system and phone support.
Maintain backups and system/network access of certain campus systems.
Salary range: $40,500.00 - $49,500.00
