Minimum Qualifications In order to be considered for appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service Secretary 1 eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law to the Administrative Assistant Trainee 1, SG-8, OR Administrative Assistant 1, SG-11.

To be eligible for transfer via 70.1 of the Civil Service law, you must have one year of permanent competitive service in a title approved for transfer by Civil Service within two salary grades of the advertised position.

Duties Description The Administrative Assistant 1 will perform office support and clerical work within the college's School of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
In order to maintain a welcoming environment for prospective students, students, community members, and visiting College staff, the duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide excellent customer service, including telephone, e-mail or in person inquiries; Responsible for reception and related front desk duties at the 113 West location; Coordinate information flow to faculty and staff across the college; Provide administrative support to Student Academic Services; Document and file correspondence related to Student Academic Services; Responsible for submitting payroll, travel, other forms to college administrative offices; Schedule meetings for staff; Use judgement to make independent decisions on a regular basis; Actively participate in college activities
