Minimum Qualifications Six years of experience in public relations, social media, and digital communications.
Substitutions: A bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media, Digital Communications, or a similar degree may substitute for four years of the required experience. An associate degree in these same fields may substitute for two years, and a master’s degree in these same fields may substitute for five years.
Preferred experience:
• Proven ability to write for varied audiences using plain language standards.
• Experience in website content authoring and editing using a content management system.
• Knowledge of User Experience (UX) design principles and methods.
• Proficiency in Google website analytics.
• Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud applications including InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro.
• Experience in using social media applications for government communications, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and social media management platforms such as Hootsuite.
Duties Description This position will perform all aspects of online communications and create content for project-based websites, applications, or social media communications. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Respond to high-priority website content requests that require quick-turnarounds.
• Post a variety of content including press releases, video, photos, translations, schedules, and events and perform web edits through Drupal Content Management System.
• Consult with program staff for all online communications needs including new or revised web content, social media, and online documents and forms.
• Draft and structure clear and presentable content enabling website visitors to easily locate required information.
• Assist with facilitated user experience design activities such as user research and testing.
• Develop content for email and social media campaigns. Manage and schedule social media posts through agency channels.
• Identify and coordinate appropriate media needs for digital initiatives including graphics, photography, and video in conjunction with those media teams.
• Leverage social media analytics, such as Facebook Insights or Hootsuite, to measure the effectiveness of social content and boost engagement.
• Monitor Google Analytics. Build analytic reports that provide valuable insight on website visitors to shape and improve website content strategy.
• Monitor current events and news at state and federal level.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Routine night and weekend shifts are required.
Shift: Wednesday through Sunday, 2pm -10pm, will be flexible with days and times.
