• One year in a permanent title eligible for 70.1 or 52.6 transfer per Civil Service Rules and Regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT: If appointed on a provisional basis, you must participate in the next Civil Service examination(s) and be a reachable candidate in order to obtain permanent status and maintain your position.

Candidates must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office For People With Developmental Disabilities and have had three months permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in one of the following titles (including parenthetics) listed below:


Group 1: Chief Occupational Therapist, Chief Physical Therapist, Chief Recreation Therapist, Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1, Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1 (Spanish Language), Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 2, Developmental Specialist 4, Head Occupational Therapist, Head Physical Therapist, Head Recreation Therapist, Licensed Psychologist, Mental Hygiene Nursing Program Coordinator, Nurse Administrator 1, Nurse Administrator 2, Nutrition Services Administrator 1, Nutrition Services Administrator 2, Social Work Supervisor 1, Speech Language Pathology Audiology Program Coordinator 1, Speech Language Pathology Audiology Program Coordinator 2, and Supervisor Rehabilitation Services.

Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 4, the Treatment Team Leader is responsible for all clinical, programmatic and administrative functions relating to the operation of group homes providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Team Leader is responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of all individuals under their charge. The Team Leader interfaces with families, correspondents, medical facilities, Willowbrook class parties and other involved parties. Must have ability to interact with all involved parties in a professional manner and be able to identify concerns that may arise in a timely manner and ensure the individual’s needs and wants are taken into consideration. The Team Leader plans, organizes and supervises the implementation of Residential Habilitation services and ensures that programs meet all applicable Federal, State and local regulations. Related duties as deemed necessary by your supervisor. Also serves as Administrator on Call.
