Minimum Qualifications Provisional- One year of permanent, competitive service as a Historic Site Manager A, Historic Site Manager B, Historic Preservation Program Coordinator or Senior Historic Site Restoration Coordinator.
Or two years of permanent, competitive service as a Historic Site Manager C, Interpretive Program Coordinator, Historic Preservation Program Analyst or Historic Site Restoration Coordinator.

Duties Description This position serves as the manager of the Historic Preservation work of the Saratoga Capital District Region, overseeing the stewardship of the Region’s ten State Historic Sites, as well as coordinating the historic preservation needs of Saratoga Spa State Park, a flagship National Historic Landmark. As the key historic preservation lead on the Regional management team, and in close coordination with the Division of Historic Preservation and the Bureau of Historic Sites, advances historic site planning and represents historic preservation interests in the development of Park Plans; assesses interpretation needs and develops solutions; coordinates review of historic preservation impacts of capital construction projects; liaises with Friends Groups and partners to advance programming, facilities, and historic preservation stewardship projects in line with agency mission and priorities; seeks and administers partner funding to advance historic preservation mission in the Region; prioritizes historic preservation workplans of the region’s restoration maintenance team.

Additional Comments *NOTE: Individuals appointed provisionally must take and pass a Civil Service examination for this position and be reachable; i.e., be one of the top three (3) candidates on the resulting eligible list willing to accept the position.
