Minimum Qualifications 70.1 Transfer Qualifications: One year of permanent, competitive service in a title designated as appropriate for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Such titles include: Program Aide, Administrative Assistant 1, Administrative Assistant 2, Payroll Examiner 1, Payroll Examiner 2, Office Assistant 3, Office Assistant 3 (Calculations).

Job Summary:
The Program Aide provides substantive professional, technical, and administrative support to the NYS Agriculture & Markets Fiscal Management Unit. The candidate works directly with office staff, contract managers, senior staff, program, and state agencies to ensure all administrative tasks are efficiently handled. The incumbents of the requested position(s) will perform a variety of duties.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Processing SFS transactions, including but not limited to contract and PO transactions
• Travel approval tracking
• Attending weekly team meetings
• Manage Fiscal Management Unit mailboxes and assign work as appropriate
• Conduct both written and telephone communications and prepare correspondence to vendors, liaisons, and program administrators in response to their questions and requests
• Provide administrative support to contract team members
• Schedule meetings and preparing agendas
• Give advice and assistance in the performance of tasks related to the Unit
• Consistently provide quality customer service to all customers, vendors, state agencies and program staff
• Acting as liaison to identify and resolve system issues
• Problem solving staff’s issues
• Utilizing knowledge of Excel and other computer skills to analyze data
• Participating in AGM projects streamlining processes that will contribute to the development of short-term and long-term goals and objectives of the agency
• Assisting in special projects such as preparing training materials, maintaining databases, and preparing reports
• Other projects as directed by contract managers and senior staff
Desired Skills:
• Experience with Adobe, Excel, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Access, Word
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills
