Duties Description 1. Serve as Deputy Regional Water Engineer responsible for management and supervision of Region 8 Division of Water programs and staff, including point and non-point source programs (SPDES) as well as Flood Protection and Dam Safety.
2. Develop and implement work plans in accordance with Regional and Central Office program policies and priorities.
3. Oversee permitting, inspection, enforcement and compliance activities to achieve Division of Water initiatives and objectives.
4. Perform administrative duties with respect to time and attendance, training, budgeting, equipment and vehicle usage, performance evaluations, internal controls, and ensure program staff are in compliance with related guidance and policies, including health and safety.
5. Respond to inquiries in a timely manner. Utilize channels of communication within the Region 8 office as well as outside agencies, municipalities and the general public to provide information on Division programs, policies and actions.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Travel may be required. Overtime may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required.
