Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s (NYSED) Office of Education Policy is seeking candidates for a Program Aide position in the Office of Standards and Instruction. This office is responsible for the areas of English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, the Arts, Physical Education, and professional development initiatives to support these subject areas. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist in monitoring compliance with administrative and programmatic financial requirements;
• Review and record grant applications, budgets, and budget amendments, monitor use of funds, and coordinate Office purchasing and procurement;
• Work collaboratively with Office management and the P-12 HR Liaison to assist with recruitment activities, including, contacting candidates, mailing canvass letters, scheduling interviews, calling references, and organizing recruitment materials for submission;
• Assist professional Office staff with projects, including collecting, reviewing, and analyzing information and data; drafting and managing project documents; and serving as liaison with other offices and program staff to ensure Office project goals are met;
• Gather, review and analyze data and information, as assigned to assist professional staff in agency-specific programs; and
• Supervise clerical Office staff, as assigned.

Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a permanent appointment. Promotions and transfers may change appointees’ negotiating unit. Candidates should be aware that changes in negotiating units may affect their salary, insurance, and other benefits.

* Leads to a maximum salary of $57,231 based on annual performance advances.
