Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s degree or higher and five years of experience in the following or equivalent areas: business, human resources, employee relations, or conflict resolution focused on meeting business needs. Experience analyzing businesses or organizations, by documenting its systems and processes, assessing its business model, identifying vulnerabilities and devising solutions.
Four additional years of specialized experience OR and Associate’s degree and two years of experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree. J.D. or Master’s degree may substitute for one year of specialized experience; Ph.D. may substitute for two years of specialized experience.
Experience analyzing businesses or organizations, by documenting its systems and processes, assessing its business model, identifying vulnerabilities and devising solutions.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES: The Project Coordinator/Ombudsperson is responsible for oversight and providing support and conducting activities related to the operation of the NYS DOL Business Engagement Office. The incumbent will participate in the planning and implementation of new initiatives and manage employee teams through the changes and should be a strategic thinker who can develop detailed plans and comprehensive execution strategies for DOL priorities to achieve program goals. The incumbent will:
• Work with businesses and organizations that partner with NYS DOL to explore, identify, and assist them in determining options to help resolve conflicts, problematic issues and/or business concerns.
• Use of systematic inquiry and independent judgement to bring concerns to the attention of NYS DOL for resolution.
• Respond to escalated cases received from businesses ensuring that swift action is taken, and confirmation of resolution documented.
• Ensure quality and content of response to businesses is met, providing thorough and actionable feedback for process improvement to business engagement team.
• Facilitate proactive engagement of NYS business across the spectrum of DOL Divisions (UI, Worker Protection, DEWS, Labor Standards…etc.).
• Collaborate with Communications division to standardize digital presence (website, messaging) for business interface.
• Serve as the subject matter expert in business engagement protocols to execute, maintain and improve systems, programs, or processes and train for DOL staff that engage with businesses.
• Establish working relationships with statewide business advocacy groups and businesses, and address/report any of their concerns.
• Re-engineering operations and processes, developing new strategies, and leading change initiatives.
