Salary RangeFrom $54733 to $68356 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Candidate must be reachable on the Secretary 2/Administrative Assistant 2 eligible list OR eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law by having at least one year of permanent competitive service in a qualifying title within two salary grades of this position. Please note: A keyboarding performance test may be required before appointment.
OR
Provisional Appointment: In the event that an eligible list for this title does not exist, or has less than three acceptors, those that have one year of service as Administrative Assistant 1 (various language parenthetics) may be appointed on a provisional basis.
Note: Provisional appointments are made pending an exam and will be revoked if the selected candidate is not immediately reachable on the eligible list resulting from the next holding of the exam.
OR
Non-Competitive Promotion: A permanent competitive appointment via a non-competitive promotion examination (NCP) may also be made pursuant to Section 52(7) of Civil Service Law, if three or fewer qualified candidates in the Department promotion field apply for this position. Qualifications for this title include: One year permanent competitive service as Administrative Assistant 1 SG 11 (various language parenthetics).
Duties Description
• Acts as liaison to Staffing Management (HR functions), Training Bureau, Building Management
• Screens phone calls for the District Office Manager. Independently answers questions based on knowledge of office operations or direct calls to the proper party with minimum inconvenience to the caller.
• Establishes filing systems, work flows, protocol, and procedures for the entire Office. This will include electronic data, as well as hard copy data.
• Maintains a tracking system for all section correspondence and/or projects that require follow-up.
• Manipulates and analyzes information contained in the Department’s electronic Management Information System.
• Prepares correspondence for the Manager’s signature. Generates management reports. Prepares coherent and comprehensive correspondence, narratives, charts, and reports, using correct grammar, punctuation and spelling. Ability to use word processing, database and spreadsheet systems. Possess knowledge of Department specific terminology.
• Schedules meetings, secure locations, make travel and lodging reservations, and maintain a calendar for Management.
• Supervises staff and train new clerical employees in the Office as needed.
• Performs other duties as required.

Appointment to Westchester County location will include salary + location pay.
